Classes are usually from 11.30am-2.30pm and are held at the Silver Spoon Caterers premises in Roseville. Different times by arrangement.

CATERING FOR FAMILY AND FRIENDS

You are having 20 people for lunch and you don't want to call a caterer. You also don't want to spend a week worrying, shopping and cooking.
This class will teach you buffet food that will look fantastic, taste beautiful and allow you to enjoy the occasion.
Sample Menu:
Vitello tonnata with anchovies and capers
Duck breast salad with green papaya and roasted cashews
Roasted roma tomatoes with thyme and extra virgin olive oil
Eton Mess: meringues, cream and berries

MORROCAN MAGIC

Za'atar, Chermoula, Sumac, Dukkah....you've heard of them but have you ever used them? In this class we will unravel some of the mysteries of Moroccan cuisine. You will prepare then enjoy 3 courses all of which can be adapted for up to 20 people.

Snapper fillets with chermoula and preserved lemons
Tagine of spatchcock with dates and orange flower water
Orange and almond cake with rosewater syrup and candied citrus zest

ENTERTAINING AT HOME

Tricks and shortcuts for a stress free dinner party.
Stay at home and entertain the old fashioned way. Let us show you how to cook a prepare ahead dinner that looks as though it's come straight out of a restaurant kitchen. Yes, it's possible! Learn tricks of the catering trade while you enjoy a hands on cooking experience and a meal with a like minded group.

Char grilled prawn, pink grapefruit and fresh herb salad with Thai dressing
Lamb fillet with baba ganouj, eggplant and pomegranate
Persian orange cake with poached quince and cinnamon yoghurt

BARBECUE

Tongs in one hand, glass of wine in the other! No it's not a sausage sizzle.
Delicious marinades, some easy presentation tips and the secret to cooking a whole fish on the barbie.
And yes you can cook vegetables on a hotplate.

Chermoula crusted lamb cutlets with preserved lemon yoghurt
Marinated prawns with char grilled lemon wedges
Whole schnapper with lemon and fresh herbs
Grilled mushrooms with feta and basil
Asian greens with soy and ginger dressing

PARTY FOOD

Twenty people are coming for drinks. Learn to cook some stunning cocktail food that you can prepare ahead allowing you to enjoy the party. Silver Spoon have fed 1000's over the years and know how to get the "wow" factor every time. Pick the brain of our chef while you learn how to take the stress out of entertaining and put the fun back in. As well as eating what you cook on the day many of the ingredients will be available for sale after the class.

Peking duck pancakes with hoi sin sauce
Chicken tagine and couscous in a box
Green olive tapenade and crisp prosciutto on grilled polenta

FUSION FEAST

Modern Australian food combines the best from our diverse cultures with the finest fresh produce.
The menu for this class can be prepared ahead and adapted from 6 to 24 guests.

Spice crusted tuna on cucumber noodles with soy and ginger vinaigrette
Salmon fillet with spiced avocado and burnt orange vinaigrette
Pain perdu with honey pannacotta and fruit compote

YOUR GROUP YOUR CHOICE

Organise a group and come for lunch at Silver Spoon. Pick the theme or be even more specific and we'll teach you how to cook it. Then enjoy your lunch with wine in our airy, comfortable upstairs room. Cost $150 per person.
Great way to have a book club meeting or a hens party with a difference! Complimentary champagne on arrival.
